VANTI is both theoretical and practical. Practical testing has been conducted in field trials relating to important Pan European social events (e.g. Jubileo 2000). By providing the pilot core of essential multimedia mobility related information, benefiting potentially thousands of tourists and other travellers in a uniquely specific way, the AVANTI system has been evaluated in a context which provides thorough indications of how the characteristics of a real application, could be commercially exploited on a massive scale.
